At a small shrine in the Kashiwa country side (in the Chiba prefecture, east of Tokyo), me and my friend rang some of the rough metallic/copper bells, by pulling the attached ropes. The bells have small balls inside to make a kind of shuffling, rattling sound. [You can find more recordings in this sound pack]
