inspired by the latest Freesound Dare project to utilise old tape recordings, I discovered this old and noisy cassette tape - a Teac CDX60. It is a recording of a bagpipe recital made sometime in the 1980's or 90's I suspect and performed by the late Mr Bruce Smith of Taranaki New Zealand.
While I am sure that the bad nature of the recording does not do Mr Smith's playing justice, it is of great interest I guess to both historians and musicoligists, but also the very "bad" quality of the old analogue recording, coupled with the wail of the scottish pipes makes this stuff pure gold for modern musicians!
