Drove out into the woods and fought off mosquitoes while what sounded like a wild boar or a pig grunted a few feet away. You can barely hear it but there are a few grunts in there recorded with laptop and USB microphone.

  That's no boar, that's an alligator! I did the same thing when I first moved to Florida. I thought I was recording some giant frogs in a local lake one night. I even waded out to get a closer perspective. It wasn't until the next day when I played the tape at work, that one of my coworkers (a native Floridian) laughed and said, "Son, you was ass-deep in gators!"
