I did got this recording from the garden, or basically put my mics out the window. It was a really bad weather, and of course the moment i set up the gear, lightning almost stopped. The hail continued, but not as wild as before. Although in the last third of the recording, it increased once again.
Recorded with a couple of Shure WL183 mics and a sony himd recorder.

Scientists from the 19th Century said the incoming hailstorm you can hear sounds from the clouds similar to lot of horse-wagons passing by on gravel road seconds before the storm arrives. That sound is the "postillion of God's whip" and can be heard from 13:50 in this recording.
Very rare sound! What was the size of the hailstones?
