Somebody dropped something in the liquid hydrogen ocean on Pluto and
this is the sound of it. This is a sample from the "Surrounded by
drones pack 1" sample pack. It is a sample recorded as 5.1 surround 16
bit 44.1 kHz wav file. It was created within Cubase SX.
I took a short sample from a soundscape created with Metaphysical
Function, an ensemble from the Electronic Instruments Vol. 2 from
Native Instruments, and drove it through several reverb processors (two SIR's using impulses from Spirit Canyon Audio and a Classic Reverb
from my TC Electronic Powercore Firewire). The result of this was
panned in surround in a way that the sound start at the center speaker.
From there the sound evolves to the back (surround) speakers. And
finally the tail moves slowly to the left and right front speakers.
There is no sound for the subwoofer. To complete the process the
samples was faded at the end and dithered down to 16 bit.
