Recorded at the Milwaukee, WI Amtrak Station on April 28,2006 while waiting for my friend to arrive from Detroit, MI. For this recording I used a Sony DAT recorder and a Sony hand-held stereo mic laying on the balast (rocks) about a foot from the rail. Unfortunately, the recording is cut short due to the train stopping so that the door was about 2 feet from the mic. You can hear the conductor telling me that I have to "move that thing" because I was in the way. If anyone wants the full recording including pulling the mic out with the cord, let me know. The clicking you hear is the mic bouncing on the balast as the train shakes the ground. Next time I will set the mic on something soft to prevent that.
