Yes, my mics are parallel, one over the other,very near the capsules allmost coincident. But I am going to try it at 90º like it is on the site above. As y have one sample with the mics in the 90º position I will put it here.

Only caption is, your mkh30 must be placed parallel to your mkh40, as the figure-8 capsule will capture sound coming at 90 º from its longer axis (the diagramms shown in the link above show a different type of figure-8 mic)

The record is ms simulates mono, but it is done whithe two mics one cardioid another bidirectional fig 8, I don´t remember but usualy I use 30 gain bi directional and 60 gain cardioin in the apogee mini mp.
