The ambience and sounds in the main display room in the British Library. Apart from voices and footsteps it is amazing how much noise there is from heating and extraction systems. At around 2min22secs the security guard's radio goes off and he can be heard racing down the stairs. The room is kept quite dark to protect the wonderful exhibits from harmful light. It is heavily carpeted with a low ceiling and therefore the general ambience here is quite different and more claustrophobic than that in the entrance hall.
