Started out as a recording of chimes being twirled around (click the remix link for the original sound). I time stretched it, turned the pitch down 2 octaves, added chorus, heavy wet reverb, a quick delay with the mix turned way down, slight flange, and 3 different EQs to filter out the extremely high frequency tones that I kept running into.
All in all this is definitely a "depths of hell" sound...
Something you'd hear when you come across a hooded figure standing over a mangled body in a dark and foggy alleyway. Very dark and ominous...
The hooded figure looks up and faces you but his face is in the shadows....he pulls a sharp bloody dagger from under his cloak and darts toward you...panic stricken, you fall to the cold concrete floor as he stands over you...hovering like a specter. Thrust after thrust the sleek steel blade drains your life away as you lie silent on the ground.
Now listen to it again and tell me you can't picture that...

Love the sound :D Thank you
So this isn't really what you had in mind, but with some time compression and reverb I turned this into the sound of a subway car passing by in my new game. Just what I needed, thanks!
