Step 1: I recorded myself reading a poem by Robert Frost (Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening)
Step 2: I decreased the pitch of the recording which also added a massive time stretch.
Step 3: Reverb, chorus, delay, and filter effects were added.
Step 4: I used a VST plugin called "SupaTrigga" that automatically sliced and mixed up the recording, randomly taking one slice and placing it in a different spot in the recording. This gave the recording a somewhat sporadic feel.

I heard this and recognized it immediately. It's used in the Day Z mod! I always thought the ambient audio was so well done and its awesome to find that it came from here!
