Ignore my last comment....
just found out that all 5 Wav-players on my tablet simply apply a PCM decoding of max. 44.1KHz 16bit, even if the encoded sample resolution is superior!? Okay, so when down-sampling isn't supported it's a pitty, but one would at least expect an incompatibility error to occur.
Anyway, my studio plays the sample correctly.
Sorry for the inconvenience...

the sample sounds great when I play it directly from the web-site. I would love to get my hands on it. However, when I download the Wav, it appears to contain static noise pulsating at about 2Hz.
Is the downloadable data perhaps corrupted after it was stored on the Freesound.org servers? (Because then it makes sense why the sound plays correctly from the site's player, as it uses a compressed version of a sound, which is probably converted & cached along upon uploading a new sound.)
