This is a very clean recording of spring peepers in a vernal pool in South Berwick, Maine.
Recorded 44.1 Khz / 24-bit on Zoom H4n using an Audix SCX1-HC mic.
By "clean" I mean there are no distracting near-field sounds and no distracting traffic or aircraft noises.
Also, the peepers are not too far away, so not too much echo/reverb effect.
There are a few clucks from wood frogs mixed in.
There was distant traffic during recording, but I used a super-directional mic to minimize this. If you find it detectable, then you could roll off the lows with a hi-pass filter.

After switching this to mono, it's an excellent recording. I used this in the intro for my podcast: https://soundcloud.com/user-163966010
Great to have an actual recording from Maine, thank you!
