Recently I have found a new VST effect: Bit Test by Shuriken. You can download it from http://www.shuriken.se/The VST is donationware, so if you find it useful you should donate. This is a bit crusher with special features i have never seen elsewhere: The audio is converted to 8 bit, and then you can invert bits or switch them off. The effect of that is to severely distort your audio. As these samples demonstrate, it works great with guitar sounds before an amp + cabinet sim (like if it was a distortion pedal). On this sample, a guitar VST sound is put through a couple of compressors to boost and even out the signal. Then it was put through Bit Test with some bits switched off before it was fed to a VST guitar amp and cabinet simulator.
