I think Freesound is a wonderful resource for us all, a seam of sonic gold, a raw resource for audio creativity. I encourage everybody to donate MONEY to the Freesound project to ensure it remains as vibrant and free of the deadening influence of commercialisation as possible. Donate anything you can, really, don’t be shy, it all helps.
