Hi, does anybody here have, or know where I can get, single-cycle waveforms? I have a DSI Poly Evolver Keyboard and would like to add some more droning type waveforms with more lower harmonics, many being slightly atonal. Since it's basically an analog subtractive synth, most of the waveforms have a lot of high harmonics on top of a single lower fundamental. There are only a few(three) that have metallic bell-like timbres, and two of them have saw-like waves as the fundamental so I have to lower the filter very low to get rid of the buzz. This also mutes the *slightly* higher harmonics that I want to use. Another idea would be if anyone knows a program(preferably a freebie) that uses additive synthesis to generate single-cycle waves.
Thanks!
Thanks! I searched EVERYTHING I could think of(except raw wave) and didn't come up with anything except this page. I guess the sounds on this site are more developed and longer loops. I sliced up a lot of samples on the Wavestation. The single-cycle waves on there are the same ones on the PolyEvolver because both were designed by Dave Smith(along with the old Prophet VS). I used to have a Korg DSS-1 and you could either draw your own waveform or make it by additive synthesis on that dinosaur. I DID get some interesting waves from additive synthesis of the types I'm looking for; that's why I'd like to find a program that could make them.
NEVER MIND!!! I FOUND IT! I Googled "additive synthesis" and it brought me right back here! http://www.freesound.org/packsViewSingle.php?id=228 Pretty cool! The software isn't really free; it's a trial version but the full registered version is only $25. Can't beat that!
