Hi, I'm a producer for one of the national shows on public radio in the US.
This is a call out for freesound participants to contribute to our show!
We are doing a "travel" one-hour special and we would like audio postcards from around the world. We want YOU to contribute! Please post *.wav files of a “touristy” sound. Then post another *.wav file of your narration of that sound. 1 to 2 minutes at the most for each file. (EXAMPLE: "Hi, I'm Pavel Jacubek from Prague and this is the sounds of the Clock in Old Town Square..." or something like that and then say whatever you want about the clock, the sounds, the scene, yourself, etc). We will edit and mix the two files together in post-production.
For the *.wav sound files Stereo is OK but we broadcast in Mono. Mono is preferable for the voice *.wav files. Please record the voice file in a quiet location to make it easier for us to edit and mix.
If we use your piece on-air we will pay you $50 USD and give you on-air credit (as well for freesound.org, of course). We ask that you add our show name ("TTBOOK" as a tag so we can easily find it.
The deadline for this project is Friday, June 19th.
To hear our show please go to ttbook.org
If you have any questions PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me, Charles Monroe-Kane directly (monroe-kane AT wpr DOT org).
I probably won't be able to make it before June 19th, otherwise I would've.
We now realize our deadline of June 19th is unrealistic. So, OUR NEW DEADLINE IS JULY 10TH.
Please email me if you have ANY questions at all!
