Hi. I need some samples (kick, clap, hat, snare, etc.) from 1980-1995 years.
Examples of the artists who use typical 1990 samples:
- Ace of Base
- Savage
- Modern Talking
- Bad Boys Blue
If someone has some, write please.
Most of the GS/GM sf2 soundfonts have drumkits that are quite "80's-ish", and there are quite a few free ones around the net.
Also, check the free VSTi drum machines available; some aim at replicating the iconic drum machines from that age.
Check for instance:

The EMU Ensoniq soundsets, which were used by anyone and everyone in the 90s for drums among other things, are now distributed as soundfonts by Digital Sound Factory (
https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/).
Another piece of gear which was all over the place in that era was the Korg M1: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korg_M1. There are lots of samples from this keyboard around (most infringing copyright, of course, I’m not sure if there are any legit sample sets?)
Hydrogen (http://hydrogen-music.org/) comes with tons of samples from old beatboxes — try the TR-626 kit.
If you’d like to try and imitate this sort of lo-fi digital PCM sound yourself, try loading up some dry drum sounds into Audacity, reducing the sample rate and using the ‘leveler’ effect. The really blunt and hard sound of these beats were a consequence of the need to work within the constraints of the technology of this era, so imitating those limitations is a good place to look for the sound you want.
Good luck!
Another sound of the early 90s was the YAmaha DX7.
A few emulations around and, if I recall, a fre free ones - look at kvraudio.com
You seem specifically to be looking for drum sounds, so maybe this one is not as useful
There are 2 plugins called Time Machine by different developers.
They do pretty much the same thing: simulate old sampler and digital equipment.
This one is free:

Might also be a good idea to run everything through a tape emulator.
For that purpose I also like Emu Proteus, free vsti, with a whole bunch of GM sounds, including drums, from the 80/90`s.

Dexed is a great open source DX7 implementation that can import DX7 sysex files. Indeed not sure if quite as relevant to the what the OP is looking for but you can get some fantastic out-there drum sounds out of FM synths.
if it's Sample style beats from the '90s' you're looking for
try

they got a LOT of the old stuff on there
