I quite like Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, which is free of charge and ‘free as in freedom’ and features a piano that sounds a lot more realistic than most of the junk out there — which isn’t saying much, but it sounds good to me. Add a convolution reverb for some realistic ambience, and you have a fairly nice piano.
Unfortunately, ultra-realistic piano sounds are fairly hard to come by in the digital realm. An acoustic piano is such a nuanced instrument, especially when used in a lead role, that it’s not easy to emulate one with a set of samples.

Since the soundfont is in SFZ format, the single samples are also accessible separately if needed.
Bigcat Instruments has done a significant amount of work compiling and hosting a variety of different public domain and Creative Commons licensed samples into free sample based instruments. Many of them are available in SFZ format. His piano collections can be found here:
