I'm more familiar with my own stuff, among which a few might suffice:
The MutedPhoneAlert in my ringtones pack, or maybe Squirble7.
The NastyAlarmLoop in my sci fi pack, or maybe the Bosun Whistle.
Similar to those ideas, try searching for "chirp", and browse through the results, or search for "alert", or ....
I've done a tinkle. What? Stop giggling at the back of class!
The sample is named 'arcade_hurry_up'.

Here is a sound that might work for you and if you use it make sure to credit me, if you want u can edit in audacity or any other program you use to make it longer/shorter: http://freesound.org/people/18hiltc/sounds/208532/
enjoy

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, it was hard searching for a sound here without having some concrete keywords in mind.
I'm still not finding what I want from these, though, maybe some will grow on me. I've given the requirements some thought meanwhile. I think it has to sound short, neutral, and distinct from a background music that is playing (which is a catchy piano melody).
Here's what I initially came up with:
maybe his one? It's a voice but funny.

I could synthesize something real quick. Any kind of effect would do? Like a wobbly swirl pitch down sweep? Or do you just need a one-hit sound?
Not fitting the requirements but inspired by this thread and what they apparently mix together with the music on who wants to be a millionaire, I mixed a game show time-running-out-sound:
