Hello yall! I am working on a ~30 minute short film. and in the film, a guy gets knocked out, and quickly (within a few seconds of the film's universe's time) the character regains consciousness.
I'm looking for something of the likes of either the intro of Gangster Squad, or in iRobot right after Will Smith wrecks his car. something spacey and distant, but where some of the sounds are still audible. I have to get the audio for this right.
So this brings me HERE! does anyone know of any ambient sounds that sound distant, that are almost soundtrack-y, but not quite. just an airy distant sounding droning hum-like sound?
or do you have any tips or know of any youtube videos that can point to how to create variations of that sound?

Isn't that effect a low-pass filter whose cut-off frequency gradually rises,
[ that effect has been applied to white-noise here ... http://www.freesound.org/people/Timbre/sounds/198765/ ]
Maybe combine it with stereo-reverb which gradually becomes mono with no reverb.
