Do i just link exactly where i downloaded the sound from on this site? Or do i just put a link to freesound's home page? I'm rusty on how all this works sorry if its a stupid question.

Just follow the example here - http://www.freesound.org/help/faq/#licenses-1
Some sound creators give their own instuctions as to how they want credit - usually in the sound description or on their Freesound user page, in which case just follow their preferred format.
