    @Corsica_S
The CC in "CCMixter" obviously stands for "Creative Commons". But I agree it is not the most catchy of names.

    @Knova
Please don't feel like I am betaing you up - I am not.
I have passed your comments up to the site admins and I await their decision. Your idea is certainly worth considering.
    Thanks for suggesting.

If one of our sounds get's rejected, why can't we at least get a reason.

How do you know the sound was rejected? Did you get an email, or simply can't find the sound anymore?

The moderation system sends an email out everytime a moderator takes an action on a sound.
A moderator can approve / reject / defer. If the sound is deferred, it basically means the moderator needs more information to decide to approve or reject.
The email would tell you what information the mod needs. Also, for rejected sounds should tell you why.

Sometimes, email systems put the moderation emails into the SPAM folder and they get missed - have a look there.

All the e-mail says is that the sound was deleted, nothing else.
If it's too low sound quality, ok I'll make a new sample, if they think it's a rip off, ok I guess he had a reason to think that.
But waiting for 6 weeks for it to get deleted for no reason? It just makes no sense.

I agree. When we mods delete a sample we should always give a reason.
I have asked the other mods, see if we can find out what happened.

Samples are never rejected due to low quality. It is never a criteria for sample rejection.
Samples will be rejected if they are known to be copyrighted. Music pieces will also be rejected.
In both cases the mod should write on the email why the sample was rejected.

If the mod is in doubt if the user recorded the sample he would use the moderation system to email the user and ask. Once the copyright status is confirmed the mod will approve or delete.
Sometimes, the users do not answer, so after a few tries the sample is deleted.
I thas happened in the past that the reason the user did not reply was because the emails from the Freesound moderation system werer ending up in the SPAM folder. - But you got the email saying the sample was deleted, so that does not seem to be the case here.
Have another look at that email. Should contain the full ticket for the sound. So if there were attempts to contact you before, they would be recorded there.
Also, if you can post the ticket number here might help with the investigation - Although mods can only normally see their own open tickets. But I am sure site admins have furhter powers and could help if needed.

It doesn't really bothers me that much it got deleted, i just wish it was deleted sooner so i can talk to a mod and clear it all out right away.
Hell if someone thinks it's someone else work, recorded from a radio, big yay for me.

    Hello,

I'm the moderator that deleted the sound. I'm sorry that no explanation was part of the delete message. I'm now figuring out whether I forgot to write an explanation (shame on me if that's the case) or if it's a technological problem (or a problem of me using the moderation system wrong).

I'll report back, as soon as I've figured it out.

    Cheers,
    Iwan

    Hey,

I tested the function and it behaves in a way that I did not expect. We're investigating whether it's a bug or feature. Unfortunately we cannot recover the message that I wrote when explaining the deletion.
If the sound is original/legal, please re-submit it, if you haven't yet. One of the moderators will then review it. In the description, please provide information (in English language) about how it was recorded, if it's voice: whether the people speaking in it gave their consent to being uploaded to Freesound under the license you picked and how the sound was edited to make it easy for the moderator to understand the submission.

    Cheers
    Iwan

It looks that the Freesound Project becomes bigger than people inside (can handle) it. I think it's a good idea to at least start today - to develop a new strategy for next following years.

Sorry i didn't reply sooner, my fiance is demanding i take part in wedding preparations...lucky me...
Anyway, I'll re-upload the sound as soon as i find the time, my uploads are a bit of a mess and it takes a long time to upload something, no matter how small the file is.
But since you replied to my message on the forum it would be rather rude not to fulfill your request.

    Thanks for your time, Vedran

*EDIT* Upload went faster than i expected, not sure if you can see the link if i just post it here, but I'm assuming you don't really need it.
