Is there a way to stop buffering the audio when pause button is hit in online playback? Because right now, when you hit the play, whole file is being buffered. Which is sometimes PITA, especially when briefly checking multiple and long previews.
I'd say it's not very common to have control over the buffering process, but I see this can be a problem ... for the moment I guess the only solution is to reload the page.

Congrats! I see you finally made the buffering stuff.
We upgraded SoundManager2, the library that we use for the player, and made html5 the default, so probably that did it for you, apparently buffering is better handled in html5 audio.

It's possible. It's a good thing if you try to preview very long files. It isn't killing your bandwidth anymore, because buffering is calculated from mouse start position, and probably buffer is waiting for playback cursor as well (like on youtube).
So..., Merry Christmas - and Happy New Year!
